How many of you have heard of a lay-away plan?  I can remember when I was a little girl, most department stores had what they called "lay-away."  It was a wonderful concept, because no matter how expensive something was, you could put the item on a "lay-away" plan and pay for it little by little, with NO INTEREST,  for a few months and then when it was paid for you could pick it up and take it home.  Today's marketing plans for most stores are that you pay over 20% interest for the items that you "charge" on the store's credit cards.  Oh, sure, you get to take the item home with you right away, but how important is that when you're paying so much extra to have it "today?"  Don't some of you think we could use those types of plans again?  I think K-Mart is doing it.  Let me know what you think.
